RMC HCV Hose Connection Vacuum Breaker is designed to prevent back siphonage through a hose connected to a safe drinking water supply. It comprises a single check valve, spring loaded to the closed position with an atmospheric vacuum breaker vent.

The Hose Connection Vacuum Breaker provides protection to the potable water supply from contamination in low hazard applications such as flexible connections over domestic fixtures and external hose taps.
During normal flow operation the check valve remains closed. If the pressure downstream of the device increases beyond that of the potable supply, the Hose Connection vents to atmosphere preventing back siphonage and the creation of a vacuum at the discharge line.
